Christian Turner - Dog Sledder

At David Reid Homes we RAISE THE STANDARD and with this in mind we would like to introduce Christian Turner, a young Australian hero.

Christian is a young surfer who divides his time between working in the Pilbara in WA and living in the wilds of Alaska training dogs and dog sledding. 

Now the time has come for Christian Turner to pack his bags and head back to Alaska. He is competing in the international dog sledding race which is known as the IDITAROD. In 2015 Christian will be competing for his second year running, starting on March the 7th. He will be training hard for the next six months alongside his friend and mentor Dallas Seavey, who won the 2014 IDITAROD, using some of the dogs that Christian trained.

The race is 1000 miles long and it follows the great Alaskan Range. Mushers with their teams sixteen dogs strong, travel this gruelling race through blizzards, across glare ice on the frozen sea and endure extreme temperatures down to -40 degrees Celsius.

To even finish this race is a great achievement and as this is Christian's second time racing in the IDITAROD, he is planning on not only finishing the race but showing the world just how well we Australian's RAISE THE STANDARD.
